Introducing....

Little miss Lillian Gray!!! I  know I am about 3 weeks late introducing her into the blogging world, but obviously things have been a little hectic. And one of the many things that has fallen through the cracks, has been my lack of blogging! I am however going to make a point to get back on track, just don't be suprised at first if the posts are more of pictures rather than words. With the lack of sleep I often get at night, it's a miracle I can carry on a conversation during the day. But oh is it ever SOOO rewarding and worth it!! We are absolutely loving life with Lillian in it, and can't even begin to imagine what it was like before she arrived. We have been so truely blessed at this little miracle of life and the joy she has brought us.
Here are a few pictures of LGs' arrival...

Tres Chic:Kitchen

While the hubs and I have done quite a bit of work and renovations to our home, there is still one room that needs a major face-lift...the KITCHEN! It isn't bad, just rather small, lacks counter space and has tall cabinets that really aren't usable. Our dining room is right off of it, which essentially has two walls that can easily be knocked down to create a much larger, functional space. I like to use the excuse that I would cook more if I had more space to work with, but somehow I don't think my hubby buys that one :) Anyway-while browsing through my daily reads aka: blog reading I stumbled upon Elements of Style and this little brownstone kitchen that she helped renovate. I must say, I am obsessed with the trellis like wallpaper backing the glass shelves (see below). It definitely sparked a ton of ideas, and has me very excited for when the time comes to taking out the hammer and begin doing some tearing down. It's the one room in the house that I can't wait to do a little restructuring and designing. Below are a few other ideas that I would love to incorporate...

Final Countdown

It is finally here...the last week (hopefully) before the arrival of our little peanut! And boy are we ready!! It's so hard to believe that by Sept 17th or 18th at the latest, she will be here. And then, I can finally refer to her by a name!!! Yes, the hubs and I at last have a name picked out. I don't know that I thought the day would ever come, but we decided. We're thrilled and can't wait to share the fun news.
Unfortunately while at the doctor this week there wasn't much change, so we continue to wait! She's still snug as a bug and healthy (which is all that matters!), but I'm hoping that since "Labor Day" is upon us this weekend, perhaps she'll decide to make an appearance. That would be fitting, now wouldn't it?! :)

Here's to hoping that the next 'baby update' will actually be an update on her arrival! Come on out baby girl, we are ready to meet you!!
Stay tuned

Fall Obsessions

With the Fall months approaching, it's definitely got me itching to bundle up a little bit. Perhaps it's because I've spent the past MONTHS sweating to death with my little peanut acting as an additional heater attached to my body? I don't know, just a thought. But I am actually looking forward to slipping on a pair of leggings orskinny jeans (if they can fit!), a flowy ruffle top (to hide the belly), my brown leather boots (if they fit my calf-typically a problem when boot shopping), and some vintage inspired Stella & Dot jewels!! I've missed being able to dress up when out and about. My wardrobe has basically consisted of lightweight cotton dresses, which I usually adore, however day after day, it's become almost too normal.
As I sit at home and wait....I sit and browse online, and here is what I'm currently drooling over along with soo much more...

Happy Tuesday!

TORY

Talk about torture! A "Private Sale" just popped up in my inbox from Tory Burch and full on temptation kicked in. For those that know, I adore shopping! Although who doesn't. However, with life's changes this year, I had to completely put it to a hault, except for my monthly visit to Targets maternity section (which just isn't quite the same!). Anyway- of course I couldn't delete the email. I had to login and see what kind of gems were marked down, that I was going to have to pass up on this time around...
Until next time.

Baby Colt update

I've been dragging a little on the baby updates/pictures, but we have been in full blown nesting around this household. The hubby made a long list the other week, and we have quickly been plugging away at it in order to get the house ready for peanut. There are only a few more things, and I think we will be ready to go! Well, not 100% ready, because lets face it, I doubt we'll ever be ready. But none the less, we're SO excited!!!
As of tomorrow I'll be 37 weeks- which is crazy! I had my first check-up last Thursday, and things are progressing nicely...so perhaps maybe she'll make an early appearance? We shall see! I'll be so anxious to go back again at the end of the week to see if there has been any more changes. My body is definitely getting ready as I am getting more and more uncomfortable each day, and sleeping is becoming less and less each night! Just too when you think your stomach couldn't possibly stretch out any further, oh it does. And it doesn't help that we are in our hottest month right now, and boy is it HOT. I don't leave the house unless it is absolutely necessary. But, we're almost there so I'm trying to stay positive :)

Panini Heaven

In the past couple weeks, I have become addicted to panini sandwiches! I find that when I go out for lunch dates, I order a panini...and now that I am home most days for lunch, I make them here at the house. Since "cooking" isn't quite my specialty, I tend to stick with the same fixings for one. My new favorite has been as easy as pie to make:

Ingredients:
1 mini baguette from the fresh bakery section
Butter
Havarti cheese (about 3 slices)
Granny Smith apple (a couple flat slices)
Red Raspberry preserves

*Just butter both the outsides of the bread, spread the raspberry preserves on the inside of one side (i usually do the bottom), layer the apple slices, then lay your cheese on top...and voila!
*I usually just let it cook in there until the cheese is melted and it's ready

Another delicious one that is so easy to make...

Ingredients:
1 mini baguette
Butter
Pesto
Fresh Tomato slices
Fresh Mozzarella cheese

*Follow the same directions above and layer to your preference!

Happy Monday!

Sneak Peek

Finally, I feel like I can breathe a sigh of relief! We are just about 100% done with the nursery...YAY!! I am still frantically on a hunt for a cream shag rug for in there, and believe it or not it has been a little difficult. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I refuse to spend a lot of money on one :) I also still need to find a little side table to go next to the glider, which has also been tough to find. Am I seeing a trend here? Perhaps it's me being too picky? Nahhh!!! ;) I've just been so excited to decorate this room from start to finish (the first ever room I've gotten to do like this), so I naturally want it to be perfect for our little peanut. Then there is just that teeny little detail missing above her crib, which is still completely unknown. I can't believe we are 4 weeks away and STILL have a no name baby. Poor thing!
Below is a little sneak peak inside her haven....final ones to come soon, hopefully!

Home Sweet Home

We are officially back in town and here for good until our little girl arrives! It has been such a whirlwind couple of months, that I have to say I am exstatic to be staying put for a while. A fabulous time was had while on the Cape, and I'm so glad I had a chance to experience that part of the east coast; especially since it was such a big part of the hubby's life growing up. It was 7 days full of rest and relaxation which was exactly what I needed. Here are some pictures from our New England adventure....

I am home now for good from work, which means more free time, which means keeping up with Lemon Petals! Stay tuned for lots of great stuff ahead!

New England adventures...

Today we are off to the Cape! This is a MUCH needed vacation for us both, and we can't wait! The hubs grew up spending some of his summers there, so I'm excited to go see what all the hype is about. It's a long journey up there, but it will be sooo worth it! This is the last trip that we will take as a family of "2", which is just crazy to think about. I've hit the 32 week mark this week, which means we are only 8 weeks shy of meeting our little peanut!!! :)
Here's to sun & relaxation!!

Happy Friday!
