For real ya'll, where did this weekend go?!?

I could really use another lazy Sunday. 

Our friend Brittany flew in last week and surprised Blair for her big day- which was so sweet! And she brought her precious little girlie Addie Paige along for the ride too. It's rare that all the kiddos are around, so we met at the park for a playdate which was so cute to see them all together!

Saturday was the Oyster Roast! They were a big hit (and I must say that hubby did a good job with them), however the weather could have cooperated a pinch better seeing as how it was freezing and windy, but nonetheless we still had a fabulous time celebrating!!!

life lately :: 'last' weekend edition

Wow- has it already been a week?! 

Do you ever have those kinds of weeks where you just can't seem to get it together? 

Yeah well, I had one of those. 

So here's a recap from LAST weekend. The in-laws came to visit...we wined, we dined, we shopped, we did house projects...overall it was a great weekend!

This weekend kicks off another gal pal turning 30!!!!

We started the festivities last night, and tomorrow they'll continue as we are hosting an Oyster Roast in her honor!!

She wears 30 well!!

Also, another birthday shout-out to my amazing Mama because she also had a birthday yesterday!!

My in-law's arrived yesterday and we're glad to have them here and enjoy a relaxing weekend ahead! Plus, the hubs and I get to have that date day + night on Saturday which I am most looking forward to! Oh, and not having to car hunt anymore is a huge bonus (that literally has consumed our every waking minute-we're picky!).

*On a side note, it's like Christmas Day here all over again...half of our loot also made the trip down with them!! We maxed out the car after and had to leave some of it behind*

Project Dining Room :: New Additions

Fair warning, excuse the crummy un-edited pictures ahead. I'm too tired to even go there.

Remember me discussing Matt's grandmother's rug that we've had for 5 years now that needed replacing, well here she is (I forgot to snap a "real" before picture)

And here is our awesome new Jute rug that I mentioned we found for a steal at BDO! 

I contemplated having a more "appealing to the eye" rug, but I'm actually thrilled with how neutral this is and now I can get the fun "appealing to the eye" window treatments I've had my sights set on and won't go into pattern overload.

Next we have our old version of a "bar cart" aka bakers rack! It has worked out great for us because of the shelves space to store our vino + cookbooks. However, I've had my heart set on getting a bar cart for some time. Obviously I swoon over the Society Social Bar Cart, but let's face it folks, that's just not in the budget these days. And I've also spotted a few at local antique shops, but nothing I had to have for the price.

So that brings me to good 'ol Home Goods! That's right, I go in looking for pretty storage bins and walk out with this....

...and hardly paid a thing for it!

Personally, I love it! I've thought about painting it to spruce things up a bit, but think for now I'll keep it the way it is

I'm way behind on the before + after pictures of our dining room paint rehab...but you get the gist here of how it came out! 

It's definitely growing on me, although not exactly the "grey" I was hoping to achieve. 

I honestly hate picking that color- it's the freaking hardest one of them all in my opinion!
