wedded bliss

It's official. Matt and I's wedding is going to be featured in the upcoming Spring/Summer issue of The Knot (NC)!!! I got the call yesterday to confirm our story and verify some information. Our photographer, Brooke Mayo (www.brookemayoblog.com), submitted our photos after the wedding and we got picked! Shortly after, I had to complete a very in-depth 8 page questionnaire, which basically had me reliving the past year with planning every single detail! But I actually had fun doing that :) The issue hits shelves December 28th, and we'll also be featured on their website. I have no clue which pictures will be chosen (which kind of frightens me!) I'm having nightmares that the one of Matt carrying me on his back is going to make the cut...for some reason I really dislike this picture!

Here's a very small sampling with some of my faves!

Pumpkin Patch part 2

Here are a few snapshots from our trip to the Farmers Market yesterday. The trip was a success as we found multiple mums and pumpkins, and even a barrel of hay to add to our display. The bird feeder ones I took in our backyard. I was up in the kitchen, looking at our window and noticed how delicious the sun looked shining through the trees, so thought I would mess around with some settings on the good 'ol Nikon.

oh...husbands! gotta love 'em

So, last night I come home from being out. I'm standing around talking to Matt, and all the sudden he sort of interupts me and goes, "where did you get those earrings?" Standing there a little caught off guard, I simply reply back with "in NYC...why"? Now mind you, the boy hardly ever notices anything I am wearing, especially my jewelry! He starts questioning me, going "really Paige, where did you get those?" I'm laughing at this point because I'm starting to see where this is going. And finally he says it "those are David Yurman earrings, aren't they?!!" A) I'm quite impressed because he knew what they looked like, and B) Should I go along with this and let him think that I would actually have the nerve to spend $1100 on a pair of EARRINGS??!! Don't get me wrong, I love to shop, but not that much! According to him, I would be 6ft under if that were the case, and probably camping out in the dog house (aka-our new shed). So my $20 "fake" DY that look identical to these real ones below, are looking better and better.

Anyway- we both got quite a chuckle out of it!

Pumpkin Patch

Ahhh...this might just be my new favorite tradition of the year. For the past couple years, well, ever since we've had the house, I truely look forward to the first Saturday of Fall. It's the day that I can finally venture to the Farmers Market to pick out Mums and Pumpkins for our front porch display :) Matt thinks I'm crazy...but I'm just slightly obsessed! I scour the pumpkin patch for just the right ones...and of course have to throw in a few of the white ones. OH- and we cannot forget about Starbucks' "Pumpkin Spice Latte" that accompanies me while on this trip! Stay tuned for pictures over the weekend....

Happy 'almost' Friday everyone!

the never-ending Wish List....

Just a few things I have my eyes on.... Enjoy :)

New Shoes...

"I said hey, I put some new shoes on and suddenly everything is right. I said, hey, I put some new shoes on and everybody's smiling"
-Paolo Nutini

While I was in Williamsburg, Virginia this past weekend at a wedding, I made a little time to venture to my favorite Outlets there (which by the way, are A-MAZING!). Of course I couldn't resist the opportunity to pop into BCBG. Now, I am usually not a shoe person. Don't get me wrong, I like nice shoes and all, but I'm not ususally the type to spot a pair and say "I have to have those!". Well, I was with my friend Kathryne and while she was trying a pair on, I started browsing. I know that the half booties are becoming a popular trend for this fall, but I haven't really been able to jump on board yet....UNTIL I spotted these above! For those that know me, might notice that this isn't usually quite my style, however, I put these on and couldn't resist! I had them on with a dress, which surprisingly didn't look too awful, but my main thought was how great these would be with skinny jeans and a big belted sweater! And now the big question is....will everyone be "smiling" or "frowning" when they see them?!? ;)

All things flirty...

We just recently remodeled our bathroom, and it has been sitting for months now with a bare white wall. We finally picked the color last week and had it painted this really subtle gray/blue, and I must say, it came out great! Matt wasn't so sure at first, but said as long as I liked it that was all that mattered :) So next, came the hunt for a "fun" shower curtain. Fun in my dictionary meant lots of flirty colors, and something appealing to the eye. I later found myself looking at one of my most fave websites....Anthropologie! I knew they would have just what I was looking for. Sure enough, there it was, starting straight at me. I stumbled on down to the store, purchased, hung....and voila! I also found this country french sign from Ballard Designs to hang in our bathroom as well.

Beginnings

I never thought I would enter the world of "blogging", however, this year has begun many firsts for me. And I think this is just the beginning of something really great to come. Stay tuned...
