40 weeks

This is what we are trying to tell ourselves over here!

Today marks 40 weeks for this mama and I FOR SURE thought this baby girl would be here by now. 

Apparently she is sitting nice and cozy inside, and not quite ready to greet us. 

So we just continue to be patient and know that she will get here when she gets here (gosh that is so much easier said than done!).

Life Lately

Lately, days over here are looong . 

Like really long. 

I found myself literally twiddling my thumbs yesterday because there was nothing for me to do, or rather that I wanted to do. 

Lills decided that she wanted to get sick...so to the doctor we went Saturday morning and sure enough she has an ear infection plus the croup virus that is going around. 

Lovely...and quite perfect timing. 

NOT! 

So while she is a little irritable (Saturday sucked to put it mildly), we are loving the sweet snuggles.

But, on a brighter note, we did have some snow over the weekend, so that was nice. 

Here's a little peak into what life around here has been like the past week or so...

:: the sister aka "Ants" came to town for work and lucky us that we got to spend a couple days with her :: 

:: we had a playdate at the park, and someone had fun in the sand...now if only the sun was shining and we were in our bathing suits...that would have made it so much better :: 

:: obsessed with my new kate spade diaper bag! my wonderful MIL scored this amazing find at tj maxx. really loving the colors for spring/fall, and the space this one has compared to my other one :: 

:: this girlie cracks me up...she is a hot mess in the mornings. and her bed is filled with toys, stuffed animals and books these days. it's cute, other than the fact it keeps her up a little later having conversations with "everyone" :: 

:: are these not the sweetest baby hats?! my mom knitted them for our sweet girl to wear in the hospital. cannot wait to put them on her ::

:: you know, just a typical ride to preschool in the mornings :: 

:: this poor fella has been spending quite a bit of time laying in the nursery...it's definitely getting obvious he knows something is up and coming his way :: 

:: finally our new rug for the master bedroom arrived...happy valentine's day to me :: 

 :: valentine's day around our house...it was a fun day :: 

:: the face of a very pitiful little girl, and a mommy who was sad she was sick...and also slightly sad we had to cancel our babysitter for what was going to be our last date night out ::

Love Is In The Air

Happy Valentine's Day, Friends!! 

Today marks week 39 for this mama...which means we are on the ONE week to go countdown! 

I am feeling every kind of emotion these days, but the main one I am overwhelmed with is love. 

I seriously am getting so anxious and excited to love on our sweet baby- you have no idea! 

And I actually have been secretly hoping and wishing for a Valentine's Day babe, so we shall see ;)

I will be spending this evening of love at home, or quite possibly at Chick-fil-a with my sweet little family.

38 weeks, 5 days

I'm still here....just waiting...

Baby Size :: 6.8 pounds...19.5 inches...apparently the size of a leek

Weight Gain :: still going strong at the same weight for the past few weeks.

Current Cravings :: ice (SHOCKER), bananas, McDonald's, cereal (fruit loops!!) and mixed green salads with feta, craisens, glazed pecans with balsamic...yum! 

Baby News :: well folks we have made progress! it's minimal at this point, but i will take whatever i can get...no turning back now! i'm apparently measuring a little small, so if baby girl decides to come in the next week they think she will be just 6-6.5lbs and if i make it to due date, roughly around 7lbs. this was music to my ears...although i know there really is no way to tell. 

Complaints :: what is there not to complain about at this point. my back hurts, my veins are really bothering me, the pressure is becoming unbearable, my emotions are going rampant and i'm already getting stressed out about some things after the baby arrives. BUT i really am trying to be a trooper and not complain.

 really.

Exercise :: yeah not so much of this has been happening. there is always next week.

Maternity Style :: do pajamas count?? 

Life Happenings / Baby Prep :: my weeks are starting to slow down, and our calendar is just about completely clear and i plan to keep it that way! we are trying to enjoy as much quality time with our first born as we can. although her behavior lately has been questionable...she must be catching on to what's about to happen ;) we took her to the circus this past weekend and she loved it!!!

oh- and the biggest baby news of all...drum roll please....she finally has a name!!! this is becoming standard for us as we didn't pick lills name until two weeks before she was born. stay tuned, you'll have to wait until she arrives to find out! 

Monday Musings

It's Monday.

It's Cold.

It's not even 8am yet and I can already tell it's going to be one of those days.

Maybe we'll make it to the gym.....maybe we won't.

Maybe we'll get out of our jammies.....maybe we won't.

So since it is that kind of day, enjoy today's random talk.

 :: we had a very fall-esque kind of weekend. i highly recommend you slice up an apple + orange, throw a couple cinnamon stix in, a few shakes of whole cloves, and some water...put that baby on the stove to simmer and you'll never want to leave your kitchen. promise!! ::

:: this little cutie was having a rough few days, so we took her to the park...and while she currently looks happy here...when it was time to go, that was a whole different story...and we were back at square one :: 

:: there will be more to come, but here's a sneak peak of baby girl's new big girl room. we've been busy over here making the big switch, and i'm just waiting on the last few things to arrive and it will soon be complete. we moved her last week out of the crib and it went awesome...thank goodness!!! :: 

:: recognize this picture at all? i saw it a while back all over pinterest and loved! finally i decided to take a gander at this girl's blog and she has got some serious chill style- i love!! i'd kind of like to be her friend and dip into her closet every day, and maybe have her style my hair too!

Let's talk about this guy, shall we...

:: while he may look all handsome, i'm about to disown him. he's five and you'd never know it. this dog has more energy than i would even know what to do with. homeboy's world is about to be rocked come february so he better get his you know what together! 

And last but not least, saying a big prayer to all of those in the northeast...especially our family and friends who are prepping for "Frankenstorm" (aka Sandy's) arrival.

It's been a long couple of days since getting back into town, and I am way too tired to even begin to write anything. So I will let the pictures from our trip up north do the explaining. I will say though that we had such a fun trip and it was a much needed break from the craziness around here.
