Oh hey...

Have ya'll totally given up on me? Don't blame you one bit if you have! Let's just say things have been rather hectic, but then again it is summer time, and well that does tend to happen. 

I think most of all we have just been trying to stay COOL. Man has it been hot...hot...HOT here! Definitely not ideal when you have an active toddler that you are trying to entertain. Let's just say that I don't usually want to wish away the summer, however this mama is incredibly ready for fall to arrive!

My mother-in-law was in town last week to visit and was a huge help with baby girl! I know they both had such a great time.  I was able to catch up on some things and more importantly dedicate some much needed time to the new business venture. 

And speaking of, I am getting so close to being able to give you the big reveal! I've got the amazing and awesome Julia over at Pawleys Island Posh working on what I know is going to be a fabulous logo and she is also helping me redesign the blog that I promised ya'll like forever ago. I'm on pins and needles waiting to see what she whips up!! 

Is tomorrow seriously the first day of August?!? 2012 is just flying by in the blink of an eye! 

Well here's a little peak into what's been happening around here...a whole lot of nothing if you can't tell!

I mean, I think I have to pick my mouth up from the floor every time I see him (sorry, babe!). 

While I've always been a fan of his, I was never a fan of his curly fro (looked way better with his swim cap on), however, he is back now with a whole new look and I am digging it. 

C'mon ladies, tell me I'm not the only one who will thoroughly enjoy staring at this deliciousness in about another week....

Surprise Sale...

Alright, a little surprise sale for you Mom's out there (or mama-to-be's or just need a great gift)!

I've got this absolutely adorable pair of Salt Water Sandals for SALE! 

They are the "the original sandal" style in Gold, size 4

I bought these earlier this year and while baby girl is a size 4, this style does not work on her still very chubby, thick feet. It makes me terribly sad because this really is my favorite style. 

These are brand new, never been worn! 

I paid $30 and am asking $25 for them, and that includes shipping!

This week

I've been a bit lazy. 

Probably because there has been lots and lots of rain. 

But I'm not going to lie, I'm sort of secretly loving it. 

I have about a bazillion movies dvr'd and a ridiculous amount of SATC episodes recorded that I have been trying to get through, so the rain + toddler nap time has helped me with that. 

So rain, I just want to say thank you (this week)! Feel free to bring back the sunshine by Friday though, okay?

Headboards

It's almost hard to talk about, just because I can't believe how fast my baby girl is growing up, but the time is a coming for that baby girl to be moved into her 

"BIG GIRL ROOM"! 

Hubs and I are shooting towards November-ish which means it's time for this mama to get her interior decorator juices flowing. 

She is going to get moved into our guest room, so luckily we already have a few pieces to work with...for example, the bed. 

So lets start there.  

It's a queen bed (yes, I realize she is lucky and at the same time this could be disastrous).

Of course I want to get an upholstered headboard for her, which the hubs thinks a 2 year old doesn't need a headboard. 

I disagree, and not to worry, I'm very open about it. 

What he doesn't know yet is that he is getting solicited to make this so called "upholstered headboard" for baby girl. 

He might be able to say no to me, but he can't say no to his little peanut!

I found this chart below here that shows the different styles of headboards you could go with. 

Hello, talk about too many options. 

But if I had to pick, I would say we'd probably go with either the Grosvenor, Cleveland or York.

DIY :: Chalkboard Wall

Chalkboard walls are floating all around Pinterest, and obviously having a child now it seemed fitting to have one at the house.

We spotted our first one over at our good friends house (thanks for the idea, Julie!), the hubs and I instantly fell in love! 

I couldn't believe with how easily he jumped on board when I mentioned that we should put one of these up in the playroom for baby girl (and friends!). 

With all of this hot weather going on around here, it was the perfect Saturday night + Sunday afternoon project to start! 

I am beyond thrilled with how it turned out...

We are looking forward to a fun holiday spent by the pool with good friends and a good 'ol fashioned cookout (with hopefully fireworks!) to end the night!
