LGC + MSR

Lillian and Matthew sitting in a tree. K.I.S.S.I.N.G.....

Is this real love or what?! A couple of weekends ago, Lillian and I went on a road trip to Virginia Beach to visit one of my dear friends from college and her ADORABLE little boy! We had such a fun time just hanging out like old times and talking babies! Matthew is a few months older than Lillian, so it was good to see what we have waiting for us later this spring and summer ;) He is fully mobile, so she has got her hands full! But he is the sweetest, happiest little boy and the babies just had so much fun together. Here's a few other pics from the weekend to see their budding romance begin...

Thanks to Kathryne, Matt and Matthew for such a fantastic weekend!!!! We'll be sure to come again when Lillian is sick ;)

Like Father, Like Daughter

This little beauty will soon be sitting in LGC's closet for her to wear next summer!! Her daddy couldn't quite say no to this one. Gee, I wonder why?!?

A little background on how I came about this great find. On Facebook now, there are oodles of "Fan Pages"..(aka Smocked Auctions) that are dedicated to children's clothing at very reasonable prices. Because for those that know, smocked clothing is a real damper on your wallet. You definitely pay a hefty price for your child to sport this stuff, but heavens it is just so sweet on them. Anyway- back to how it works. So they are basically auction sites that you have to sit there and as soon as a sale starts, click your refresh button a zillion times till the item you are waiting on appears, and then type as quick as your fingers will let you, "sold/size/email"...and then you patiently wait, hoping that you have scored your great find! Thankfully this whale bishop dress was a pre-order last night, so all 150 plus people were winners of this cute thing. Of course I debated getting it for her to wear this summer, but I was trying to be practical since in the upcoming months LGC will be crawling, and obviously crawling in a dress is a little difficult, that we would hold out until she is a walker. Gosh that sounds scary to say!
Doodle bug is going to look soo darn cute :)

Pot Roast

If there is one thing I don't do well, it's cooking! I'm sure I have mentioned this a time or two before but I just do not love it. Perhaps if we had a larger, more functional kitchen I would, but for now...nope! Well, I had made a promise to myself that at the beginning of the year I would "attempt" to cook more. Not really for me, but because of the hubs. I could live off of grilled cheese and cereal if it were up to me :)
So lets see here, I cooked two big meals this week that I must say I am quite proud of. Last night I made my first ever Pot Roast in the crockpot. And it came out mighty delicious if I do say so myself. Let me first start by saying that when I went to the store to get the ingredients, I was rather embarrassed that I had to ask the guy in the butcher section, "Sir, I have never made a pot roast before and have no clue what meat to buy for it. Can you help me?" Yep- it happened, but hey, who cares! So the very kind man helped a girl out and we went on our merry way.
Try this one for yourself sometime...

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast (4 servings):

Ingredients:
(1) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1/2 (1oz) package of dry onion soup (I used the whole packet)
1/2 cup and 2 tablespoons water
2-3/4 pounds pot roast
**I also added whole carrots and potatoes**
Directions:
1) In a slow cooker, mix cream of mushroom soup, dry onion mix and water. Place pot roast in slow cooker and coat with soup mixture.
2) Cook on High setting for 3-4 hours, or on Low for 8-9 hours

29 is so fine

Literally. Deep down I am fine with turning 29 this coming Sunday. However, I can honestly say I almost wish I were going ahead and turning 3-0! Yes, I said it. The last year of your twenties just seems like an awkward year. Although I must say, it will be a fun year to reflect on all of the wonderful things that have happened for me in the last decade. I feel that out of all of them, your twenties is the time in your life where you go through some of the most major life changing events. For example, graduated college, moved to a new state, went through a few jobs, married the love of my life, gave birth to the most amazing miracle in life, and made some fabulous new friends. So I look forward to enjoying one last year of all these wonderful memories, before embarking on another glorious decade ahead.

Oh- and did I mention that these two lovelies are flying in tonight from Atlanta and Tampa to help me celebrate (and of course to see LGC, which lets be honest, is probably only reason their coming! )...

Stay tuned for a fun weekend recap on Monday!

Lately, I'm all about anything with an Ikat pattern! Here are just a few things that I would love to have spotted in our home, especially one of those lamp shades sitting in our guest room...or soon to be newly revamped living room. Oh, and the picture on the bottom, that's a little inside hint of what is to come! :)

Pillow Talk Talkin'

I am simply loving these pillows by Trina Turk found here at one of my favorite sites, Layla Grayce. I've been keeping my eye out for some that will compliment well with our new sofa and chair. Well, our new sofa and chair that we don't have yet, but hopefully will soon. Blog post on the new living room plans to come soon :)

Loving these from Furbish as well....

Ballard Designs
Serena and Lily

I think you can see a trend here with the style I am wanting to go towards, and I'll tell you, it's nothing like we currently have sitting in our living room now!

Happy Friday!!
