Project Dining Room :: New Additions

Fair warning, excuse the crummy un-edited pictures ahead. I'm too tired to even go there.

Remember me discussing Matt's grandmother's rug that we've had for 5 years now that needed replacing, well here she is (I forgot to snap a "real" before picture)

And here is our awesome new Jute rug that I mentioned we found for a steal at BDO! 

I contemplated having a more "appealing to the eye" rug, but I'm actually thrilled with how neutral this is and now I can get the fun "appealing to the eye" window treatments I've had my sights set on and won't go into pattern overload.

Next we have our old version of a "bar cart" aka bakers rack! It has worked out great for us because of the shelves space to store our vino + cookbooks. However, I've had my heart set on getting a bar cart for some time. Obviously I swoon over the Society Social Bar Cart, but let's face it folks, that's just not in the budget these days. And I've also spotted a few at local antique shops, but nothing I had to have for the price.

So that brings me to good 'ol Home Goods! That's right, I go in looking for pretty storage bins and walk out with this....

...and hardly paid a thing for it! 

Clearly I'm still not sure how we'll style this bad boy

Personally, I love it! I've thought about painting it to spruce things up a bit, but think for now I'll keep it the way it is

I'm way behind on the before + after pictures of our dining room paint rehab...but you get the gist here of how it came out! 

It's definitely growing on me, although not exactly the "grey" I was hoping to achieve. 

I honestly hate picking that color- it's the freaking hardest one of them all in my opinion!

Valentine's Day is just around the corner

Of course it's only natural to think of pink + red 

While the hubs and I don't exactly have anything fancy planned for Valentine's Day itself, except a hot date at home with our baby girl....we will be celebrating this weekend (thanks to the in-laws!)

I'm delighted because it'll give me a reason to get dolled up for a change (like I've said before, those days are far and few between)

DVF + Baby Gap

I'm pretty sure that my heart just skipped a beat. 

I first heard of the news over at a daily read of mine, Designer Bags and Dirty Diapers, and pretty much died and went to heaven when I saw this...

Diane Von Furstenberg is set to release a collection with Baby Gap next month!!!!!! 

The sizes will range from 2-14. Peeerrrfect!!

Now while her mama has never been lucky enough to own one of her infamous wrap dresses (that I drool over often), I'm certain that we'll be able to splurge on all the mini cuteness that's going to be available.

New Goods

I was a little giddy while in Atlanta.

Two of my favorite home furnishing go-to's!!

So naturally the sister + baby girl + I had to venture there.

Here's a snapshot of the home goods I drove home with...

{our new jute rug via BDO : I just hope she works in the space I've got planned for her to go in. if not, no biggie b/c she was SOO on clearance, I won't even bat an eye if we have to stow her away for later}

{the goods :: serving bowl + bedroom shams + guest bath towel + gold starburst tray for guest room + trinket tray to go somewhere + antique pedalburst votive holder to go somewhere} 

{what i would have given to bring these puppies home with me for our kitchen, BUT, for those of you that know, there is no space for them in our pint size cooking haven}

{these aren't new, but we just had two of our couch slipcovers monogrammed and i do LOVE how they turned out}

**I am sad to report that the fun projects at our house have been temporarily placed on hold. We are having to tend to some of those other "not so fun" joys of owning a home...

aka: new roof + new windows (and that's on top of the new car).

I do still have some finished "house updates" posts lingering, I'll get those up soon**

but barely.
