Oh Todd...

Well, this is a late recap. But hey, this family has had a lot going on lately. I've got about five "draft posts" that are waiting to be finished. So my goal - is for you to have a new post to read for the next five days! 

 A couple weeks ago, we (baby girl and I) went on an impromptu trip to Todd, NC. Now, for those that have never been before, I highly recommend popping through this quaint little place hidden in the North Carolina mountains. It was heavenly. Before I continue though, let me mention that there were 5 adults and 6 kids that took this little trip! One might immediately think chaos, since all the kiddos were under the age of 5, however, not the case. They were all "angels" and kept us all well entertained for the three days we were there...even in the car, which was the most fun (HA!!!). 

I'll let the pictures do the talking, but let me just mention one thing. All along the town there is a river that flows north. And on this river were lots of folks floating in tubes with beverages in hand. Tubing is a favorite pastime of mine, so the second this was spotted, I wanted to hop right on out of my car and plop myself in one of those cozy little tubes and float on....

Special Delivery

These beauties surprisingly greeted us today! Now, let me know first share with you a bit of background on the delivery status I have been receiving for over a month now. They were originally suppose to ship around July 17th. That didn't happen. Then they were suppose to ship on August 5th, and then that date got moved to August 29th. I was NOT thrilled when I received that last notification, so I picked up the phone and gave Ballard Design a nice little phone call. I'd like to think that my disappointment and possible rudeness on the phone got through to them, because I got a delightful phone call yesterday morning while in Target. It was the trucking company calling to schedule our delivery. I immediately called right back to make sure it was the right furniture, and after doing a little research, IT WAS!!!! :) So when the woman said, "How does tomorrow sound", I of course jumped and said "sounds great"! 

Now it might be a few days before I get back to you with the almost finished product (we're still on the great hunt for pillows)! 

Until then, I will be ironing and ironing and ironing slipcovers! Yes, this one above will be getting removed b/c it looks too sloppy for its debut.

The Midwest

This past weekend, we went here...

And what an extravagant affair it was!! There were so many amazing details throughout the weekend to make it just perfect! And way too many to share. Needless to say, I think this was the highlight of the event....

Yes, that is a firework show. And yes, it was our own personal one. Hands down it beat any 4th of July show I've ever seen- it was unbelievable. And just when you thought perhaps it was over, it kept on going! 

Mequon, Wisconsin sure did treat all of us east-coasters well! So well that in fact I am getting sick from our fun adventure :( I had grand plans for an entertaining blog post on our trip, however, the energy is just not there. So instead, I'll let the pictures tell all... 

A BIG thank you to my Mom for coming up to stay with our sweet girl so we could go away- We miss you already, Gummy!

Oh little Miss Lillian, what a personality you have grown into these past 10 months. You are like the baby I don't even recognize anymore...

You are talking up a storm. 

You are eating what we eat. 

You laugh at us for no reason at all.

You give us kisses when we ask for them. 

You are crawling.

You are taking your first steps (with help)! 

Your hair is turning blonde.

Your first two teeth have come in.  

You have taught your Mommy and Daddy to be better people.

What can I say, you are the absolute light of our lives. It is so hard to believe that we are less than two months now from celebrating your 1st birthday. That's going to be a tough day for your mama, so we're just going to stop talking about it...that is until I'm sure I''ll bring it up again next month.

I think her facial expression says it all. I'll spare you the other videos, but she did get better and we finally got a smile out of her :)

We are a big "Amazon.com" family. If there is a particular item we need or want, we usually always check here first because you just can't beat some of the prices. Not to mention they have anything and everything you could possibly think of.

It's been sitting in my inbox for quite some time because we have still been lucky enough to not have to buy diapers for a while. I knew we were running low, so I thought I might look into this and see what kind of deal we really could get. Um, not quite sure why we didn't do this sooner! If you sign up with Subscribe & Save, you get an immediate 15% off for the S&S delivery, then just for being an 'Amazon Mom' you get another 15% off each order! How it works is...you sign up, you click how often you want the diapers delivered to you (every month, 2 months, etc) and voila! You can obviously log in to change when you want your next shipment, if you need them sooner or later depending on when you checked off.
So this past Wednesday I decided to place my order and got a box of 186 diapers that was originally $45.99 for $30 plus FREE shipping. That's like $0.16 per diaper which I think is pretty darn good! AND the best part was that there was a big 'ol Pampers box sitting on my doorstep on Friday.

I'm thrilled to say that we are staying in town for the weekend, and oh how fun that will be! We have a few activities planned with baby girl to help her celebrate her first Independence Day! And it just so happens to be the hubby's favorite holiday. Is it sad that apparently this is news to me?? Not quite sure what it is about this day in particular that he loves so much, but maybe over a few summer cocktails, we'll find out!

Living Room :: Update Two

**The new furniture is officially on it's way!!! Well, sort of. The order has been placed, but it's coming in about four different shipments, with the important pieces shipping at the end of July! Have I mentioned before how excited I am?! After a few "talks" over dinner this past week with the hubby, we came to an agreement on the sofa and two club chairs. I'm going to see if I can't get crafty with the ottoman that we want. Ha- we'll see how that goes. 

Our floors are waiting. Yes, we taped out where it's all going...and somehow this little booger made it in the picture. She's excited too!

In other news, a package arrived at our door step yesterday with some wonderful goodies in it for LGC! While we were in the mountains for Memorial Day weekend, we came across a kids store that was having an amazing 50% off sale, so of course I couldn't pass up that great opportunity. Needless to say, baby girl walked out of there with some pretty good finds! We sent them home with DeeDee to take to her awesome girl that does monogramming, and below is the finished product. LOVE!!
