I'm just going to go ahead in advance and apologize for the lack of posting. 

I took a last minute trip over the weekend, which was great fun, however, set me back a little bit.

My sister-in-law flew into town on Tuesday to spend the week with us.

And then my in-laws are driving down later today to spend Easter with us. 

SO, there has been lists and lists and lists a mile long to take care of.

Not to mention I solo parented (is that a word?) somewhere in the mix.  

Hubs was in Key West at a bachelor party for the past 4 days. Ugh- no fair.

So now it's time for me to pack it up. 

Baby girl and I are going to head back north to New Jersey with the in-laws and stay to visit with them all next week! 

It will be a much needed break, and while there I'm also planning to host a few Stella & Dot trunk shows. 

Man- the ladies up north love them some S&D jewels and I LOVE it!!! It is always such a fun time to host up there!

DIY :: Easter Banner

Easter is one of my favorite holidays, so I thought it would be fun to do an Easter craft with baby girl. 

I found these cute foam shaped eggs at Target for $5, and everything else I had. 

The eggs are suppose to spell something out, however, after starting to cut out letters 'being creative', I got frustrated and gave up. 

So we'll try again later this week!

life lately :: weekend edition

Just a small recap of our weekend. 

Small because it rained a good bit of it, thus making it a lazy household over here.

After sprinkling our dear friend and her baby boy-to-be, I spent a good bit of the day sorting through my Stella & Dot mess. Taxes, inventory, supplies...you name it!

 I've got two parties coming up while up north next month, so it was time to get things in order and get organized.

Fabulous Friday

Are you sick of hearing me say that we're sick? 

I know, me too! 

But it's happening here. Finally went to the doc yesterday, and I'm hoping that after the weekend baby girl and I are going to be good as new.

*Where my child gained her love for reading I will never know, but to say I am pleased would be an understatement. If you want to know the way to my daughter's heart, grab a book...plop her in your lap and you'll be her new favorite person! 

These are a few reads that we plan to add to her collection when she moves into her big girl room. And how fun is that notepad!*

I'm looking forward to the weekend because tomorrow we are sprinkling a dear friends soon-to-be baby boy!! We are all ecstatic to be seeing blue around here since all we know is pink!! :)  

Otherwise, it's a low-key weekend which sounds so divine right about now!

Healthy Habits

Hubs and I have decided to take on a mission

and that is EATING HEALTHY!!

On my birthday this year I got hit with the stomach bug (AGAIN), and for some reason just had a hard time shaking it this time.

And after days of bad stomach aches and basically feeling blah, it was enough to get me motivated to change some of my habits. 

As of lately, I have stopped taking vitamins, stopped eating decent meals (or just a meal for that matter) and the exercising had tapered off.

I spent a good bit of my Sunday scouring the inter-webs (aka Pinterest) looking for some healthy ideas, making the grocery list and getting creative with our weekly dinner menu.

This is just a sampling of what I came home from the store with

Tons and tons of fruit + kale + spinach +fixings for healthy salads + vitamins

And here's an idea of some things we're going to try...

Veggie Dip + fresh veggies (substitute sour cream for greek yogurt)

We now have no square inch of free space in our fridge.

 It is filled with bowls and bowls of arugula and about 8 tupperware containers filled with cut-up easy to grab fresh fruit and veggies!

Here's to hoping we notice a difference...soon!!

life lately :: weekend edition

There's been quite a bit of this going on lately, considering the weather has been AH-mazing... 

There's also been a lot of walking going on in our house. YES, we FINALLY have a walker!!!

I found these cute little guys at Target, and of course because they were the special edition Lilly Pulitzer animal crackers, baby girl had to have a couple boxes...

We also had our 18--month check up, and my petite peanut got a clean bill of health...

Saturday we went to the St. Patty's Day block party and had a great time! It was off to a rocky start with baby girl, but she rallied and we were good to go... 

Looks like the easter bunny came early to the Colt house and a certain four-legged friend wasn't real happy about that...
