sneak peak + new travels

I was trying hard to post the recap today from our weekend prior, but we are jaunting off (AGAIN) this morning to New Jersey. And while I am almost finished going through all of my pictures, I just couldn't quite seem to get it completed. 

The main purpose of this trip is to host a Stella & Dot party tonight for my mother-in-law and one of her friends. We'll be cutting it close getting into town, so I do hope I'm not late to my own party :) But a bonus for this visit is that my sister-in-law and her hubby are now officially  homeowners to their first home, so we'll get to see their new digs. And of course the usual, friends and family. Should be a fun weekend! 

So until I can get my act together, I will leave you with a little taste of what a beautiful weekend it was in Amelia Island...

Happy Halloween

....2 days later! We had such a fun time this year with our little pink piggy!! Last year she was only 7 weeks old, so not much entertainment there :) But on Sunday we made it back from Amelia Island in just enough time to join our neighborhood for their annual Halloween parade. It was a great time and the kiddos were just as cute as they could be in their costumes. 

Then on Halloween night we had our annual "Coltrera Chili Chimnea Night" minus the chimnea this year. Unfortunately for us, and more so the kids, it rained therefore we had to move the get together inside. But we didn't let that ruin the good food and good company.

**On a side night, is anyone else out there as shocked as I am that it's already November?? Seriously, where has 2011 gone?!**

Fall Foliage

Two weeks ago, the fam packed up and headed over to Todd, NC with some of our good friends! We had such a wonderful time...hiking, shopping, relaxing, golfing, lunching, sitting by the fire. It was a picture perfect mountain weekend! 

My Best Friends Wedding

Our whirlwind travel schedule is in full gear..hence the lack of blogging! We get home from a trip and I swear I feel like I spend the next 4 days unpacking, doing laundry, cleaning and repacking for the next adventure. Mama is a bit exhausted. And somewhere in the mix baby girl has gotten herself a cold :( This is only her second one in 13 months, and it's pitiful. Not going to lie, I've sort of love her clinginess-minus the tears.

I am SO looking forward to this weekend though...it's my very dear best friends wedding!!! Hubs and I are off to Amelia Island in Florida today and I can't wait for the festivities ahead. I know it is going to be an absolutely amazing day and she is going to be the most stunning bride. 

Full report next week of our adventures to Todd and Amelia, but don't count on it Monday!

Back in the game

A little too much time has gotten away from lately when it comes to exercising. Well, a lot of time actually. Before getting pregnant, I had made a vouch to run a 1/2 marathon at least once a year in hopes of training for a marathon around my 30th birthday. Considering my 30th is less than 5 months away and I only have two 1/2's under my belt with a nice two year hiatus in the mix *Nov 2009 to be exact* I don't really forsee that marathon wish happening now. Ho Hum! 

However, I can do my best to jump back on this running bandwagon, which has already begun. I had a 'chat' with myself last week and I think it's done the trick. I've gotten back into the gym and running outside (even made it there one morning before the baby woke up-pure delight). I've also started my research on the next race I will be challenging myself with. Here are the front-runners...

Traditions

Oh hello again. Yes I know it's been a while again, but I've been busy- and I'm just going to leave it at that! 

Now that fall has officially greeted us, this past week we actually got to feel the weather like affects from it. I must say it was oh so delightful! We got to bust out our scarves and boots which was a major bonus! So a little recap from this past weekend (yes I realize it's Friday and that we are about to embark on another weekend). It's become a 2nd annual tradition going with some friends of ours and their daughter to our local farmers market for breakfast and pumpkin/mum picking! For me, starting to make these traditions has become so important, and when you get to share them with others it's that much more fun! Last year Lills was barely 4 weeks old when we went, so she sorta missed out. But I think she enjoyed herself this year, that was until the family pics came, which you'll see below.
