Pillow Talk Talkin'

I am simply loving these pillows by Trina Turk found here at one of my favorite sites, Layla Grayce. I've been keeping my eye out for some that will compliment well with our new sofa and chair. Well, our new sofa and chair that we don't have yet, but hopefully will soon. Blog post on the new living room plans to come soon :)

Loving these from Furbish as well....

Ballard Designs
Serena and Lily

I think you can see a trend here with the style I am wanting to go towards, and I'll tell you, it's nothing like we currently have sitting in our living room now!

Happy Friday!!

What kitchen wall?

It is no secret that our lovely home has needed some work along the way. Thank goodness the hubby is so super handy, because luckily we have been able to do all the renovations that have desperately needed to be done. However, the kitchen just so happens to be the last part of the house that needs a wee bit of attention. While I adore our kitchen, it's small. We have hardly any counter space, no pantry and cabinets that are too tall for me to even reach.
This is still very much a work in progress as we have yet to start designing the new built in pantry that's going to be added. Stay tuned for the final product....probably later this spring! But what a difference it has been with the space being so much more open! We find that we spend a lot more time hanging out in the dining room, or kitchen when friends come over.
Little project...big difference!!!

{I do believe this is THE night it was decided the wall was finally coming down...thanks to our extraordinaire designer friend Kelly and lots of beer}

(Work in progess...)

(Hubby looks so tough below. This however was after the crowbar came back and hit him just above his eye leaving a nice gash over his eyebrow)

Flower girl debut

Well, little Miss LGC is going to be in her first wedding later this year and I must say I already get teary eyed thinking about it. I know, pathetic! My wonderful sister-in-law is getting married in August (yay!), and LGC is going to be their flower girl. While my MIL was in town the other weekend, we started talking about dresses for her to wear, and how just a simple smocked dress (that she could wear again) might be the route to go especially since they grow out of everything SO quickly! But while we happened to be at Target looking at bathing suits for the misses, we stumbled upon these adorable little dresses! And believe it or not, I think we found her flower girl attire. MIL happened to have a sample of the bridesmaid dress color with her, and the navy/pink polka dot dress below just so happens to be an identical match, the pink part that is! So we figured this would be a great coordinating dress. Oh- and the handsome little ring bearers are wearing navy suits. Can we say, presh! So here below are the two dresses we picked up for the wedding weekend...

LBD

I am slightly embarrassed to say that I have only been in Kohl's once, and it was a while ago. But this past week, Mom and I had to venture in there because my sweet tiny monkey is so long that she is outgrowing her 3 month jammies :( And since the lifespan of these little numbers is rather small, I refuse to spend a lot on them.
But of course while I was in there, I got distracted with everything else and stumbled upon LC's (aka Lauren Conrad) line. I ended up walking away with this cute little number...

I almost hate to even post this picture because it doesn't do it justice! A) It is not that short on me, and B) It does not come with the belt (not a fan of belt's already attached to pieces!), but it is the perfect Little Black Dress! It is wedding season all over again for us this year, so I will be excited to accessorize this up soon enough! Oh- and dare I mention the best part about this purchase? It was only $41. :)

Mrs. Meyer's

Well, I figured I might try something new. And while these products might not actually be "new", I thought it might be fun to feature a product each week that I have grown to love. So, let's talk about SOAP. I'm sure your thinking wow, soap...how exciting! NOT! But these days, soap has become a major household item over here. I have a rather large stash of it in our linen closet. Recently I have become obsessed with Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day products...especially the "Basil" scent Liquid Hand Soap. It's so fresh smelling. If you haven't tried any of these, it's highly recommended that you do so, now!

Lonny Love

I usually just take a quick glance at Lonny Mag, but this time I really looked through it and was quite giddy with what I found. Here are just a few of the things I was smiling over....

Love the bay window/office nook over on the left...

I'm sure LGC would die one day to have that chalkboard fridge in our kitchen! (her mom would too!!)

Who wouldn't love to have this terrace outside their door?! I can just picture now sitting out there with a hot latte and a good magazine...

And of course I spotted this handsome little guy over here on the right, and just couldn't forget to include him....

Obsessesed with this dining room table and chairs! Oh- and the fabric too!!

I would love to replace our current mirror with this starburst mirror below....

Get it while it's HOT

STELLA & DOT'S NEW SPRING/SUMMER COLLECTION IS FINALLY HERE!!!!

2011 Resolutions...

Better late than never!
It's so hard to believe that another year has come and gone. 2010 was a year of learning and experiencing in regards to a lot of different things, but it also brought me the most special gift of all...our daughter! I always say at the start of the year, I am going to make a list of some goals I would like to "try" and achieve, but well that usually never pans out. So I thought I might give it a shot for real this time, along with printing it out and posting it where I can see it and be reminded. In no particular order here are a few things I would like to improve on...

1) Blog more consistently. If only you could see my Dashboard, I have about a million posts that are in the editing stage, that I have yet to complete. So many different ideas, however I can't seem to stay focused enough to finish them.

2) Learn to use Photoshop more effectively. Photography is still on my to-do lists, but until I learn to use Photoshop and all the tools it has to offer, I can't quite fully get there. It's a hobby that I love, so there is no excuse as to why this can't be done...this year!

3) Shed my remaining pregnancy weight! I absolutely love to run and did it all the time before getting pregnant last December. It was a personal decision of mine to give it up during the pregnancy, but now there is no excuse. We joined a new gym that has a great nursery, so again, there is no excuse why I can't get back in shape!

4) To run at least one half-marathon, if not two, in preparation for the full one I will be running in 2012! I have always said that by the time I'm 30 (or for my 30th birthday) I wanted to do this. So many great race options as I've already been scouting each out.

5) Set home business hours. With having two jobs that basically operate out of my home, it's a little tricky when finding time to get everything done that needs taken care of. Obviously I have yet to master this since my first priority is my little love bug, but I do need to become better at it.

and last but not least...
5) To be a better wife and mother.

Here is to looking ahead at a great 2011
Cheers!
