Living Room Re-Do :: Before

We are officially furniture-less in our living room! We said our goodbyes over the weekend, as they have found a lovely new home with a bunch of college girls. Our previous couches and coffee table had been with us for a while though. They were the ones that the hubby bought when he moved to Greenville back when we first met. And while they treated us well, it was obvious they were more of a guys pick. Let me give you a peak at what they looked like....

Yeah, you see what I mean?? Dark...very very dark! And very much not my taste. I just felt like every time you walked into our living room, you got no flavor of color in there. I need a little brightness in my life :)

While most have said I am crazy for wanting to get an ivory/neutral color sofa (I do have a baby, soon to be toddler in the house), I just need to do it. I have this perfect picture in my head of what our living room would look like, however, I'm not sure it is what the hubby has envisioned. We have decided that having two couches and table is too much for this room, so we are only going to go with one couch this time, two chairs (style to be determined...again, hubby is throwing a bit of a wrench in my plan) and possibly an ottoman style table (slightly more child-proof).

Here are some examples of couches that I fancy....
along with some chairs that I love...

...I would paint the legs antique white

...I'd do anything to get my hands on a pair of these beauties

Just a few pillows that I think would look delightful on those sofas....

So now that you sort of see the theme I am going for, let's just hope that sooner rather than later I will be posting the "after" blog post that includes all of our new finds.

I said "I Do" to my best friend! So hard to believe that 2 years has gone by since we were in the Outer Banks sharing one of our most special days with all of our favorite people! We still find ourselves talking about it, and how it hands down was THE BEST weekend- just everything we imagined it would be and more! Never in a million years would I have thought this is where we would be 2 years from now but I wouldn't replace it for anything in the world! I love my life. I love my husband. I love the sweet miracle of life we have created.

Happy Anniversary to my guy!

Pool Days

I am so excited to finally report that we are members of a POOL this summer!!! We knew it was something we wanted to do especially with the newest addition, but was not entirely looking forward to writing that check. But we bit the bullet and I know we won't look back! In summers past, we have relied on our sweet friends (you know who you are!) to let us come invade their pool time and now it is our turn to finally reciprocate!! And did I mention how scary close it is to our house- a huge perk?!? I think I see a new favorite activity to enter our household...and one that will hopefully result in a tired baby in the evenings ;) Stay tuned for some fun pictures of the little bit splashing away, because the pool opens this weekend and we can't wait!!!!

Do you know Naan?

I attempted to write this blog post last week, but Blogger was not cooperating, so here we go again. Last Wednesday, I wanted to do something slightly different, and well easy, for dinner. A friend of mine had told me about a friend of hers food blog, and to check it out for these easy pizzas. Who doesn't love a homemade pizza, right? So I checked out Madaket Market, to see what I could find. I scooped up this delightful idea, and voila, I must say they turned out quite delish!

Ingredients:
Naan Bread (garlic or plain) in frozen section at Trader Joes
Quattro Formaggio cheese (also found at TJ)
Squash, sliced thin
Basil
(other toppings might include pepperoni, zucchini)

Directions:
Turn the broiler on low (but keep top shelf leveled a little lower)
Top Naan with a little bit of Quattro
Add your topping on top
Then sprinkle a little more Quattro
Top that with a little bit of basil
Stick in the oven for maybe 5 mins until it starts browning
AND....

Enjoy!

Weekend Getaway

This weekend I am off to Atlanta to see one of my high school friends, Suzanne get married! It will be a fun reunion, as we all haven't been together since my wedding almost 2 years ago. While I am sad that I have to leave my sweet girl behind this trip, I am excited about some girl time in one of my favorite cities! Oh- and did I mention that while we are there, we are also taking a detour HERE for a happy hour! I find their BLUE beyond delightful and can't wait to get my hands on some later today.
